What a God-send meeting Keely. Here I am at 42 and pregnant with my first child and I've never even babysat before. The glittering array of products on the market were quite a terrifying (and possibly very expensive) prospect. With expert advice we whittled down the list to what I really needed and not what all the marketing hype makes you think you must have. It also helped focus my mind after being bombarded by family and friends with conflicting advice "essentials". It's been quite hard to stop my husband buying everything in sight but I made him read information provided and even he is starting to get a grip! As well as the practical side of all this it was an added extra to know I had the ongoing support of my Babyplanner.

In the hormonal fug of pregnancy I was desperate to do the right thing but I didn't have a clue what I actually needed: where to splash out and where to save and what brands were best. My mum's advice was invaluable, but she was as confused by pram systems, baby monitors and advice on tog ratings for sleeping bags as I was.

Enter Keely. I knew her vaguely through my husband, but the superb help and advice she gave me when I was pregnant really bonded us. She helped me navigate the stormy waters of maternity and baby departments and it may sound obvious but when you are working as far up to your due-date as possible and frantically nesting and battling against fatigue and raging hormones, having someone to help proved invaluable to me.

In the five years between having my last child and this pregnancy, most of our baby kit has walked out of the front door into the arms of needy friends. And even though I’ve been through it all before, my first session with Keely brought up so many things I hadn’t even thought about.

When I had my first baby seven years ago, I went to John Lewis. Now there are so many great products on the market that they don’t even stock that I want to know about, it made sense to cut to the chase and get Babyplanners to provide that information for me.

Keely has been excellent - from recommending the most comfortable maternity bra ever (which also looks gorgeous), via organising home pregnancy massage to getting a bespoke mattress made for an antique crib we have on loan.
